A Spirit of Climbing

Illustrated graphic t-shirt (2022). This artwork was a collaboration with Hong Kong based Rock Climbing Centre, N Bouldering.

In the crags and peaks of Wan Chai, Hong Kong, there lies a flicker, a gentle flame amidst the concrete and steel. A tender form, sprung forth of flesh and machine. It finds its path, from frieze to ledge, a little body plagued by ache - but consumed by ascent. A spirit of climbing.

Its cells and fibres locked in motion, it scales the towers as though they were rock. With every grip, its fervour grows, driving ever upward. For what lies at the peak is not a destination, but a testament to the indomitable will that propels it forward. A flicker amidst the city's towering giants, a little spirit rises and shines, illuminating the path for others to follow. A spirit of climbing.
